Hello everyone,
Question : I recently migrated all my files/DB from my test ModX 0.9.6 environment to our live/production server with 0.9.6. I put a password on the html folder (webroot) because we are still in beta and it happily wrote out a .htaccess file and renamed the old htaccess from ModX.
I do have a 500 Server Error when I try to edit document home page (1), but only the homepage seems to have this error, very strange.
Is it wise to merge the two .htaccess file and does it matter in what sequence the commands appear? So can I just paste the password lines before or after all the modx stuff?
htaccess are reasonably new to me and I understand it is quite an art in itself to work with them.
If you don’t like the visitors to browse your site, simply make your site offline (manager\tools/configuration),you’ll be able to work out but users will get the "site is not available" msg.
Ah yes, I had considered that (even reconsidered when you mentioned it) but to cut a long story short its not possible at this particular time. It has to be through .htaccess for now.
