Need help with Articles Extra

Hey guys
I have searched the web many times and I can't find any start to finish tutorials on setting up and using the Articles Extra.
So I'm here to ask If someone can make a tutorial covering the articles extra with all of its hooks and property's. From start to finish.

Also when I make a Article template and save it then try to go in to edit or manage articles
all I get is a template variables page.

Can someone explain what I am doing wrong
And why its not working
