What is the difference between .htaccess and ht.access? My root server has .htaccess which I know is correct. But my modx folder has ht.access. Thanks
Modx name it ht.access so that it doesn't overwrite a existing one on upgrades, if you want to use friendly URL's you will need to either rename the ht.access to .htaccess or add the code to your existing .htaccess
The 2nd thing to name it ht.access instead of .htaccess is, windows has some problems with handling files without "a name" and on unix based systems the file would be invisible by default.
The Webserver will always only handle .htaccess files. So the other one is just an file with an strange name.
