    Hi there,

I will be starting a project shortly and was just wondering if anyone has used the MODx webuser system much. I briefly set it up, but am just wondering if it is flexible enough to allow the following functionality:

    * Custom fields when creating a user. (ie more than just the default registration form) How is this done?

I also noticed that when I logged in with my details the form remained? IS this normal. Should the form not be hidden once you are logged in and browsing the site?

    Cheers,

    Justin

Sounds like you may be calling the snippet cached if the form is not changing.

Yeah that was probably it, I did untick the cache and I notced it said I was logged in on the homepage.
Any ideas about my other question, I guess to add custom fields to the user table I have to hack the DB and therefore the snippet?
I would probably be quicker writting my own snippets that query a DB table I create?

No need to hack. Try WebLoginPE.

I’d take a look at this WebLoginPE thing that ScottyD is working on honestly; might save you some time.

But I’ve created countless projects with additional tables that store data related to a webuser by id, and choose to simply extend or create a custom weblogin snippet. I can store whatever I want, and no matter what happens to the weblogin snippet (or related core data) on updates, my custom "stuff" is isolated and continues to work.
