Date settings

A client has requested the ability to change the date format when displaying the messages. Currently they are using day / month /year and he would like month / day /year .

Anybody know if there is a setting somewhere I can change or do I need to look into the core? If the latter is the only option...anyone know where

Are these messages being shown by Ditto, or the messages in the manager, or

Good point. That was a little hazy.

I am referring to the messages that can be sent between Manager users when logged into the backend.

Looks like core-hacking time, at least until 0.9.7 is out and a myriad of new possibilities will intermingle to allow just about anything without core hacks.
Look at manager/actions/message.static.php, lines 59, 186 and 224. I think this will cover it.
