Terabyte hosting?

Hello,

a customer of ours who creates television commercials wants to set up a system to share DV video files to their clients. They expect to need about 500GB of storage-space for their movies, and are not sure about the needed bandwith. In the Netherlands it seems that terabyte-hosting (that;s the name we use for big-space hosting and bandwith ) is super-expensive it seems, so we’re looking worldwide now for a good hosting-provider that offers big diskspace and enough datatraffic for a reasonable price. It’s not a big problem that download-speed is sometimes slower because of shared bandwith etc.
Anyone have some recommendations?

Sure does seem to be a good case for a dedicated server. You might check out cari.net for some of the most affordable dedicated boxes out there.

we already have several dedicated servers running for our clients. The thing is that all of them have a RAID configuration with about 80 to 150GB storage, and no room to expand this (probably blade servers
Also backup procedures for such huge amounts of GB’s seem quiet challenging?

Have you considered getting an S3 account for video storage and accessing it from there? That way the delivery can come from super-cheap and robust RAID storage hosted by Amazon.
