I'm updating our clubs MODx website and I'd like to use Vidlister to link to our Youtube videos.

I've installed Vidlister and the instructions make reference to creating a new property set but they seem a bit vague:

    create a new property set
fill in the details (for Vimeo visit http://vimeo.com/api/applications/new first)
    save the property set

Has anybody done this or does anybody have any more detail on exactly what to do?

    Thanks a million

    M

I've gotten Vidlister to work but had a few problems with it I couldn't work around.
      https://forums.modx.com/thread/76950/vidlister-channel-feed-problem
So I ended up creating a custom solution with MIGX.

Anyway it is a good add on if it works for you.
As far as the vague directions they are a bit of a puzzle.

      Here's how you do it:
      - Go to your Elements tab in the manager and expand the Plugins tree
      - Find the 2 under Vidlister (one for Vimeo and one for Youtube)
      - In your case click on the Vimeo one
      - Go to the Properties tab and create a new set, selecting Vidlister and hit save
      - Double click the Value boxes and fill them all in. For Youtube you only need channel but Vimeo looks like you need several things. Make sure you change the top value of Active to Yes as well
      - Then make sure you hit the Save Property Set button on the right
      - Next click the Systems Events tab on the same page and look down the list until you find the, usually checked, OnVidListerImport event
      - Double click the Property column drop down beside it and choose your newly created property set
      - Hit save on the upper right and clear site cache

That's it. If your info is correct you should be able to go to Vidlister in components and import your vids.

Let us know how you made out! [ed. note: eric.swd last edited this post 13 years, 11 months ago.]

I've just tried it on the test site and it works great. I had managed to miss the properties tab somehow and it wasn't doing a lot without it (for obvious reasons). I'll spruce up the output a bit and load it up on the main site.

Thank you so much for your help.
