    Hi,

    I have an old website under Evolution 1.0.6 encoded in iso-8859-1 (latin9) and I need to convert it to utf8

    I follow Bob's guide to do this, and it's nearly OK

    The frontend is OK, but not inside the manager : all special characters (accents) on the ressources (titles, contents...) are converted with é codes.
    The special characters on the manager interface are OK.

    I have on Tools > Configuration > Characters encodage > UTF8
    and on the /manager/include/config.inc.php I have set $database_connection_charset = 'utf8';

    What did I forget ?

      On the source code of the Manager, I have in each iframe this code on the header :

          <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />

      All the database, the confing.inc.php, the "Tools > Configuration > Characters encodage" are set to utf8, and the manager stay on iso-8859-1 !!!

        I have found an issue.
        Not very clean, but it works :

        • I have renamed /manager/includes/lang/francais.inc.php to /manager/includes/lang/francais.inc.php.old
        • and finally renamed /manager/includes/lang/francais-utf8.inc.php to /manager/includes/lang/francais.inc.php

        Now my website and the manager are on UTF8 smiley

          I'm would like to reopen this topic because I discovered a big collateral problem since I had migrate my website from latin9 to utf8

          Now, when I edit the content of a resource, I have problem with " and ' characters.
          For example, I want to insert on the content area this code :
          <div class="myclass">I'm happy</div>

          After saving, it transform the content like this :
          <div class=\"myclass\">I\'m happy</div>

          And on the website, it doesn't work, of course !!!

          Whorse : if I'm resaving the resource, have this :

          <div class=\\"myclass\\">I\\'m happy</div>

          Etc....

          What could be wrong on my configuration ?

            It looks like magic_quotes_gpc needs to be turned off.
