SOLVED::EVO Error: Lost connection to MySQL server at 'reading initial communication packet'

Hi,

SOLVED::(Apparently it was MYSQL failing to start after the nightly cpanel updates!!)

I'm getting the following error on some Evo sites (1.0.4 - 1.0.6):

PHP error debug
  Error:	mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Lost connection to MySQL server at 'reading initial communication packet', system error: 0	 
  Error type/ Nr.:	Warning - 2	 
  File:	/home/mysite/public_html/manager/includes/extenders/dbapi.mysql.class.inc.php

anyone know what i should do or why it's happening?
