    Hi All,

    Just a quick question, Im building a social platform on Modx Evo and im thinking my web users will want to be able to change their usernames when ever they want.

    My question is ... is that okay for me to put that feature in ? Does the webuser username field have any relational dependancies etc or is everything only linked to user id ?

    If it is ok to change the usernames when ever i like is there only one field / table i need to update?

    Take Care and thanks in advance for the help [ed. note: webfrogstudios last edited this post 13 years, 11 months ago.]

      I wouldn't imagine that Evo is any different than Revo in this matter. The username field is simply a data field like any other. It should not matter what the username is.

        Yes, you can change the username at any time and in any way you like. It's in the web_users table.

            Okay so i have tried to do this now using webloginPE by adding it to my &profileTpl template for update profile page here is that part of my template file:

            <div class="fieldcolumn">
            					<b>* Desired User Name: </b><input id="wlpeUserRegisterUserName" type="text" name="username" value="[+user.username+]" />
            					</div>

            It does not update when i click save, all my other fields do including custom fields but why not the username? I am stumped ...
