theres a folder with a file named ".DS_Store" but the file manager isn’t displaying this file. as a result the file manager won’t let me delete the folder because its not empty. i can’t view that file even when logged in as administrator.

DS_Store files are Mac system files used to store meta-data
You can prevent or easily delete them with a Mac (BlueHarvest comes to mind), but I don’t know of any method to erase them with a PC...

They won’t harm your PC or server, don’t worry... they’re just as annoying as thumbs.db files are for PCs tongue

Where did you find a DS_Store file ?
Most of the time, it happens when an archive is created by a Mac user (I think there are options in compression software not to include them)...

I’m not the server administrator so I can’t FTP to the server. The only file access I get is through the CMS or SVN. The file was added to the server manually through the initial FTP transfer when we switched servers. I can get to it eventually by going through the server admin guy but it’d be nice to be able to do it myself through the CMS if it happens again.
