Obviously there is the distinct difference. But could almost compare it to saying tables are good for website layout. Bad design ends up with bad results. But only almost.

But like said, numeric variables are mission impossible with php. This is not just xPDO problem, it is general problem. And you are correct there that it could be said that it is a bug with xPDO. But bug is naughty word so might use something else like Microsoft way of saying "feature" wink

You can add the issue to bug reports at http://tracker.modx.com/projects/xpdo and opengeek will definitely look to it. But I am not authority to actually say if it will be ever implemented. There definitely will be ways around it and to use different functions instead of array_merge. Also in the future the xPDO core will be having drastic changes (some year in the future wink )

Forgot to add, MySQL was not designed to be used with PHP in the first place. [ed. note: lazylegs last edited this post 13 years, 11 months ago.]
Almost retired from web-development industry but still randomly writing at Lazylegs.info and on schedule hopefully in near future to finish Oracle and PostgreSQL ports of MODX
