What about the php-cgi.core in root

I have noticed on a couple of evo websites there are large php-cgi.core files in the root.

Does anyone knows what these files are?

they show up when there are parse errors.

This is likely a core dump file created by Apache because it encountered an error it could not handle when attempting to process the PHP via CGI. It generally indicates a problem with the PHP environment, e.g. PHP was perhaps compiled against incorrect versions of specific external libraries on the platform.
