Change the &level property to show as many levels as you want. 1 will only show the top level, 2 will show the top level and its immediate children, etc.

If you have more than two levels (top level and one level of children) you need to increase the &level property to however many levels you want.
If you want the submenus to show all the time, get rid of the &hideSubMenus property. When that is set, submenus will only be displayed for the submenus of the page that is the active/current page.
I have tried as mentioned and still no joy - If i remove the &hideSubMenus then all the sub menus show up all the time and i then set the &level to 3 but still these submenus don't show up

That is very odd; if the resources have children, the children are published and set to show in the menu, and they are not password-protected, then they should show. Do you have any CSS rules to show/hide the levels? Are you sure you have the wf.wrapper placeholder in the proper place in your row tpls?
As i have a couple of problems i think i have to admit defeat and pass this on to someone a lot more skilled than me to resolve - Thnaks for your help so far
Hello aphelan,
Did you manage to resolve your problem?
Perhaps you could post a snapshot of your resource tree, which of course shows the resources you are trying to process as menu.
A bit more information of your CSS/javascript code might be very helpful too.
Hope you fix it soon.
Thanks
