I been combing over this for a few days now, and I can't figure it out.

    Situation:
I have a client that needs to manage a bunch of downloadable pdf's. I have set up an area on the site in the side bar that is pulling in "MODX Static Resources" but i cant get the resources to link to the actual pdf every time i click it it try's to download the HTML page associated with it.

Am I to believe that there is no way to manage PDF resources through MODX. Or is there a better way to manage a library or PDF's

      Here is the set up

      1. The resources being pulled in by MODX
      2. The Setup in the manager
      3. The error I'm getting

Also I have tried what some of the other threads suggest which is creating a custom content type, still not working

        Add the context type PDF.

In the System Menu, choose Content Types. Add New Content Type. Set it to:
        Name: PDF
        Description: PDF Content
        MIME Type: application/pdf
        File Extension: .pdf
        Binary: yes

        Save the Content Types.

Then, in the resource where you're linking to the static file, choose the settings tab, and set the content type to PDF.

        That should do it.

          Thanks for the reply,

I had the content disposition set to inline that was causing the file to download as a html file

Yep, I've seen that myself. Glad you're up and running.
