[SOLVED] MODx Revo 2.2.4pl showing 'Could Not Connect' on frontend

Hi There,

I developed a website for a client a few months ago and it was all working perfectly. Unfortunately, on Friday, the front end of the site just shows 'could not connect'.

The admin panel works absolutely fine, but unfortunately, you cannot see anything on the frontend of the site or preview and of the pages from the admin panel.

MODx Version - MODX Revolution 2.2.4-pl (traditional)

I've searched on the internet, and some people recommended removing the 'media_sources' folder from the core/cache/ directory. This doesn't seem to have helped.

Is there a fix for this, and does anyone know what would have caused it?

Just "could not connect"?? Nothing else?

Have you tried clearing the core/cache folder? Also, rename .htaccess to disable it for the moment. See the site?

An .htaccess problem would show more than just could not connect though.

Has the server made any changes they haven't told you about?

Have you tried re-running setup with a copy of 2.2.4-pl?

Thanks for the reply!

All sorted now - Found out after looking at the Error log on the server that it was a Snippet to do with Twitter.

Apparently Twitter updated their API last week to remove a way that you used to be able to pull in the latest tweet. That basically caused the whole site to stop working as the site pulls in a twitter feed from the bottom of the site.

Easy fix once I knew!!
