Answered ACL

Here's my guess: The resources are protected by a Resource Group ACL entry that connects them to a user group. The admin user is not a member of that group, so they're hidden from the admin (even though the admin has the right to add them to the group).

If I'm right, adding the admin user to the user group that has access to the resources should solve it.

Hmmm ... I thought I did that. Both users (Super Admin and Admin Lite) are already part of the 'Administrator' User Group. https://www.dropbox.com/s/fei3abnvb5icccw/ACL2.jpg

But maybe I'm misunderstanding you. Where exactly would I set that?

Also, here's a shot of the Context Access tab if that helps, https://www.dropbox.com/s/nsz0zpgmqwt0h1q/ACL1.jpg

ugh, without seeing all the policies and groups, ACL's, etc. I can't tell what's wrong.

Have you tried creating an Admin Lite user group and leaving the default admin alone in it's own group?

Does the Admin Lite have resource group access with a resource access policy? A policy based on the resource policy, I mean.

          Hi Frogabog,

I tried your suggestion of creating an 'Admin Lite' User Group then added the user to it (and removed the same user from the old User Group). I left the default 'Administrator' User Group alone (it still has the one Super User).

At the risk of being prematurely optimistic now when I (as either Admin or Admin Lite) add a Resource to the 'Administrator' Resource Group it seems to work. Though before I'm sure I haven't inadvertently broken something else I will need to do more testing.

I feel like I understand ACLs less now than I did before but at least it seems to work.

          Thanks
            Todd

I generally recommend not putting any other users in the Administrator group. It usually makes setting permissions simpler and it give you more flexibility with Form Customization rules.

After this experience I'm inclined to agree.

              Thanks, Bob.
