On OSX 10.8.2 I have Revo 2.2.4 installed and loving every bit of it! I recently had to restore my macbook from a Time Machine restore point.
At first was getting the "blank page", was due to the mysql DB password has to be inputed again.

None of my resources were there, previously installed plugins were intact.
So I attempted to restore the "data" folder that is located under usr/local/mysql (under a standard mysql install).

I kept trying different restore points of that "data" folder which holds the modx db, yet it seems that Time Machine never backed it up.

Can anybody shed some light on this as I'de like my Time Machine to back up my modx DB thanks.
Could be an ownership or permissions issue?

    much appreciated.
    • I would imagine you would get more answers on a more appropriate forum, as this is a Time Machine issue and has nothing to do with MODx.

That being said, there may be some Mac users here who would know what's happening. I've never used Time Machine, so I'm not going to be able to help.

@sotwell very rhetorical and astute observation. I have placed the post in the genral area under Revo.

For other passer by. Here is some additional information on the procedure followed.

        • Might be better suited for either a MAMP (assuming that's what you're using) or Time Machine/Apple forum.

Honestly, the only thing I can imagine is that for some reason either the mysql directory has been excluded from your backups, or the files are in a continuous locked state which doesn't allow Time Machine to access the data in there.
