    Hello,

we are using ModX revolution 2.2.0.

Is there a way to turn on gzip compresssion in Modx?
That way pages served from ModX will be smaller, faster and load quicker for browsers to load.

    regards
    Jamie

      Hello,

You can peform "on the fly" compression by adding those lines in your .htaccess file at the root of your server.

#Reduce server overhead by enabling output compression if supported.
      php_flag zlib.output_compression On
      php_value zlib.output_compression_level 5

Additionally, PHP can be run very efficiently with FastCGI+cache. Caching can be done with XCache.

This is not specific to MODX but to your server.

Lastly, I experienced MODX Evolution being faster than MODX Revolution; but things may have improved during last months.
