PHPThumb on 1.04/1.05 how to debug

I have an old site running Evo that needs PHPThumb to resize images. I grabbed the version from the repository but it isn't working properly. I'm using the plugin for various reasons and all it does is leave me with empty image tags.

No cache files are created an no errors are thrown. I'm not sure how to go about searching for the problem without any error messages.

Anyone have any experience, or ideas?

What version of phpthumb did you deploy? I know http://modx.com/extras/package/phpthumbpackage0.3.2 should work with PHP 5.3.x.

Yeah that's the one I'm using now, same problem, all images removed.

Could it be that Modx is in a sub directory? Would the config need to be changed in that case?

Nevermind, it was me all along. For some reason my snippet was named incorrectly.

I'm having trouble with an installation of MODX Evolution 1.0.4 and Phpthumb 0.3.3. Seems Phpthumb isn't compatible at all with PHP 5.4. I've tried installing the Phpthumb-package that is compatible with 5.3, but that's not enough.

Does anybody know how to run Phpthumb 0.3.3. with PHP 5.4? Thanks!

I'd expect an error description

What happens? What doesnt?
How does the snippe call look?
How does the source code of the html output look where the snippet output should appear?

Sorry, didn't have access to error logs earlier, but I do now. This is what I get if I put the URL of the Pphpthumb-generated image (like 'http://www.<PRIVATE>.nl/image.php?src=assets/images/example.jpg&w=284&h=169&zc=1') in the address bar of the browsers

This is a deficiency in phpThumb and has nothing to do with MODX however as phpThumb ships with Revo, Shaun has done work on it there. You can see in the link the changes needed to make phpThumb work properly on PHP 5.4.x: https://github.com/modxcms/revolution/commit/d6fb64035ee2af9dab1d526d310b344447f6e0c3

Unfortunately phpThumb is not maintained by it's author and hasn't seen a release since 2011.
