MODX Revo 2.2.5 and .4

Haven't seen quite this error while searching...
Edited a chunk, saved it - no problems - edited another chunk then tried to return to previous chunk and the whole browser page goes blank. No dashboard, navigation, MODX title bar - all gone. Can regain all of the MODX features and rest of the site/dashboard content by using the back button. But cannot get access to the first chunk mentioned above by normal selection process using the nav tree.
Did some experiments and found that a particular typo in the chunk html seems to trigger the problem, in particular leaving out '-->' on one of my comments in this instance.
The markup in question was supposed to be this:

<script src="./assets/js/libs/modernizr-2.6.1-respond-1.1.0.min.js"></script>
what I did by accident was this:
<!-- All JavaScript at the bottom, except Modernizr.
<script src="./assets/js/libs/modernizr-2.6.1-respond-1.1.0.min.js"></script>
and the page goes blank. Verified that this happens on both 2.2.5 and 2.2.4.
Went into a test site and made another typo:
<!-- All JavaScript at the bottom, except Modernizr.<script src="./assets/js/libs/modernizr-2.6.1-respond-1.1.0.min.js"></script>
Which sent cpu usage through the roof at my hosting service and they had to disable:
public_html/connectors/element/index.php to keep it from running an endless loop that resulted from the 'typo' experiment.
Not certain if this type of situation would be classified a MODX problem.
Should this be reported as a bug?

No there is no php - this chunk is standard head info - in fact is a custom HTML5 boilerplate head that I use for site builds. I apologize for not getting the code layout correct in my initial post. The typo was the omission of characters to close a comment. I went back and verified that the omission caused a blank page in both 2.2.4 and 2.2.5. Unfortunately the test on the 2.2.4 build (test site, thankfully!) caused a server load of greater than 25%, my hosting service limit, and they suspended the script:
connectors/element/index.php
does this extra info help?

I'm not sure what that means. It sounds like MODX may be trying to execute the JS when you load the chunk in the Manager.
