Revo 2.2.4 hangs when saving a resource

Hi,

Seem to be getting an issue when Revo will some times hang when saving a resources. The strange thing is it doesn't happen all the time. A client is currently experience it more often than not at the moment.

If you add some text it might hang, but then if you reload the page and add the same text it will work. It's been reported on most pages, but seems to be more of a occurrence when MIGX is edited.

They are using FF 15.0.1 but have experience the problem of chrome also.

Any suggestions as possible things to try?

I've noticed MIGX hanging too, but only when I add more than one record.

Chrome hangs on save and it seems to be due to browser extensions. Uninstall or turn off all the extensions, and re-enable them one by one to find which is causing it. Reports here at the forum don't indicate any single extension as the culprit.

Try the same with FF, in case an add-on is causing it.

Thanks for the suggestions, still getting the same problems. I've tried chorme and FF as fresh installs and still getting the problem. Seems to be every 3 or 4 saves it will just hang.

What would be nice would be some way of cancelling the save so you can try again without to refresh and loose all changes.

Is there any server configurations that could possibly be causing the problem.

MIGX only seems to hang when I add more than one item at a time. So, I'm careful to only do one, then save, add another and so on.

I'm not getting the issue when adding items, it's happen when editing items already there. So you could write some text, save and it'll hang. You then need to re enter the text again.

I'm not having issues with resources in general, only MIGX. And I'm now a little gunshy so if I think it might hang, I copy the text first.

When Chrome was hanging on me, it would save the resource but just not refresh. MIGX hang doesn't keep the entry when refreshed though so it's got to be a totally different kind of hang than the one caused by a browser add on, and your issue in particular is another different kind of hang because it affects regular resources too (intermittently).

I hope someone with some smarts can figure this out, I'm not that person.

I'm experiencing the same thing as well.
Saving hangs when normally when we edit more than 2 records. Does any one found a solution?

Have the same thing reported more or less regularly by a client (not experienced it often myself though...also was not sure if it's browser dependent...), will do a little bit of investigation as soon as possible!

Edit: In relation to the post above, I personally also use a chrome browser (Iron) and thus I'm maybe experiencing it not so much... [ed. note: exside last edited this post 13 years, 9 months ago.]

No solution yet, got the client to use Chrome and they don't experience it as often.

Also I've found the when it hangs if you then press command & S (ctrl & S on windows) then it saves again and will normally work.

An option to cancel save if it hangs would be good.

Maybe it's not this, but MODX 2.2.4 (and maybe 2.2.5, can't remember) will hang when saving resources if you had a TV on that particular resource that was only available to the Admin group. Fixed in 2.2.6.
