Has anyone built a paid membership and forum site with Revo recently?
I see from some threads that people have attempted it in the past, so I'm curious to any latest experiences and what tools/plugins were used.
I've been flirting with some other suitors lately (wordpress, buddypress) but boy are they ugly. I thought they would be a quick and easy affair (yes, I never learn).
So after a couple of torrid weeks, I 'm now thinking I should have stuck with Modx.It may take longer to consummate but the end result may be that much better.
Any thoughts?

Check out Mark Hamstra's SubscribeMe extra. It handles subscriptions and payment. It could be used with Articles, though that's a blog, not a forum. There's no good native forum software that I know of for Revolution, though there may be in the near future (the software that runs this forum).
Some users have found ways to integrate other Forums like SMF and Vanilla into MODX, but I don't know if their work is available in a package.

PLEASE, PLEASE specify the version of MODX you are using.

Thanks Bob,
yeh I've looked at Vanilla and it looks promising.
I'm also looking at Foxycart to do the whole recurring billing management, although that could be overkill.
There does seem to be various bits and pieces I could pull together to do it all,
I was just hoping someone might have done it before and tell me where all the booby traps are.
Thanks for the SubscribeMe tip.
