    I'm using the DeafultUserGroup plugin to put new users in a default user group. Problem is, when activated, the new user save dialog never finishes its "progress bar overlay". If I reload the manager the user has been created, but not added to any user group.

    A quick look in the error log show this:
    [2012-10-01 19:08:23] (ERROR @ /connectors/security/user.php) Could not get table class for class: modAccess
    [2012-10-01 19:08:23] (ERROR @ /connectors/security/user.php) Could not get table name for class: modAccess
    [2012-10-01 19:08:23] (ERROR @ /connectors/security/user.php) Error 42000 executing statement:
    Array
    (
        [0] => 42000
        [1] => 1064
        [2] => You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'AS `modAccess` WHERE `modAccess`.`principal` = 14' at line 1
    )

    Any ideas?

      The plugin itself does no security checks at all, so it's most likely a problem with your MODX install or your security settings.

          It's tough. Maybe someone else will recognize that error and make a suggestion.

          One easy thing to try that sometimes works for weird problems is to manually delete all the files in the core/cache directory and clear your browser cache and cookies. Another would be to go into PhpMyAdmin and repair all tables in the DB.

          What exact version of MODX are you using?

            /connectors/security/user.php is the connector for handling user management functionality:
            <?php
            require_once dirname(dirname(__FILE__)).'/index.php';
            $modx->request->handleRequest(array('location' => 'security/user'));

            It's basically just telling MODx that the incoming form submission is involving security/user issues (as opposed to security/role, or any of the other security functions that may or may not be actions like login or logout), and has the REQUEST values sanitized before being passed on for processing.

              @BobRay: Neither of those had any effect. I'm using 2.2.4.
              I am however using the (maybe slightly modified, but I think not) MemberPages plugin from your book, which is also triggered OnUserFormSave. Could that be messing things up somehow? Like the "break;" statement or so?

              @sottwell: Ok. What does that mean?

                @BobRay: Just occurred to me that I could try it myself instead of asking you. And no, the MemberPages plugin is not causing the problem.

                  Good news! After updating to 2.2.5 everything works like a charm.

                  Thanks for your efforts though!

                    Glad to hear it's working. Wish I knew what happened, though.
