I'm trying to create a new resource with an alias. When I type in something in the alias field, and hit save, the system displays "resource saved" but the alias field becomes blank. For some reason, the alias isn't being saved.
I haven't started configuring friendly URLs yet, I just did a git install of 2.2.4-pl, when through the documented setup process.
How can I figure out why this isn't working?

BTW, there's nothing in the error log. All other fields for the resource save properly.

Check the database (the site_content table) to see if it's not being saved at all, or if it's being saved but not being displayed for some reason.
Does your alias contain any non-ascii characters?
All alias entries in the table are blank. They aren't being saved.
Nothing special in the alias. Just one or two words and a dash. I've tried everything "plain".
According to firebug, the alias is being sent as part of the HTTP request.
Other ideas? Thanks for your help!
