Working on my first website I encounter the following problem. modx keeps on referring to the wrong template. If I create a new document in the document tree and attach a newly created template to this document, it always takes the template which is attached to another page (in my case the Home). I already upgraded the install but this didn't solve the problem.

Can you set the template using Quick Update Resource (by right-clicking on it in the tree)?

Hi Bob, I can change the template using Quick Update Resource. The name of the new template is shown but when a take a look at the page it takes my home template.

... and another strange thing, elements like TV's and chunks are not being displayed anymore after upgrading, even though I emptied the browsers and modx's cache. I'm using Revo v. 2.2.2-pl (traditional).

One thing that causes trouble with template settings and sometimes TVs is if your date/timezone settings don't match (MODX, server, MySQL, etc.).

You may also have a corrupted of missing file in your install, especially if you transferred the files individually with FTP. It happens fairly often.

Also, it's sometimes necessary to clear your browser's cookies in addition to the cache when upgrading.

I will check for the date/timezone settings but it's more obvious that a corrupted install is causing the problems. If this doesn't solve the problem I think I will continue with a clean install. A good opportunity to change the design of the site because I'm not totally satisfied about it ;-) Thanks Bob!
