I could well be wrong about Wayfinder's behavior in Revolution, in fact now that I think about it, I'm sure I am.

Confirmation: After reviewing Wayfinder, you are correct. It does return $output.

The issue is very likely that Wayfinder class is not completing its contruction: In the initialization there is this code.


This causes a get() method on non-object error. This also explains why he is not getting a debug message. At the least, this should not happen in initialization... or there should be a check to make sure that $modx->resource is not empty. [ed. note: fuzzicallogic last edited this post 14 years ago.]

It might work to make a copy of Wayfinder (MyWayfinder) and change that line to:



Then call runSnippet('MyWayfinder' ... ).

I've submitted a fix and pull request to the Github Repo. However, the develop branch seems largely inactive lately.

You actually have to copy/modify the entire Wayfinder package... not just the Snippet. A quick fix alternative (not recommended) is to modify "core/components/wayfinder/wayfinder.class.php" and change the line in question (line 39).

Unfortunately, if Wayfinder is updated and it does not include your modification, the quick fix goes out the window. The proper practice includes a number of steps. I'm trying to compile a list of steps for you.

Another questionable line in the same construction is line 63.

I made the quick change to wayfinder.class.php (both lines of code) just to test it out but it still crashes.

But now you should at least pass construction and get an error message why. Add &debug=1 to you Wayfinder call.

It is not producing any error in the log, can't really tell what's going on.
