I am not sure I understand something (well many things but lets discuss one at a time). I think that I have read that you can use MODx documents as data storage and organization as well as for pages in the website. For example lets say that a site has a section with files to download. We can store the info for these files in documents with TVs to handle the custom info needed as well as the uploaded file and then retrieve this data and display with Ditto or some other snippet. Does this make sense? I am having a hard time rearranging my thoughts since I have always considered pages=pages and documents=documents but I think that in MODx a document = documents or pages.

Would it be a good idea to work like this or is there a batter way to handle documents (files)?

I am working on a project that will have feature file lists for download (working papers) and I need to consider an interface for administrating this.

Didn’t you ask something very similar in another forum thread? You should try to keep your question in one place, if possible.
Not me, must be someone else. I try to keep up on the new topics but this one must have gone by.

Thanks for the tips, I was just trying to grasp the idea of using MODx documents for files as well as pages. What you described is pretty much what I was thinking. Only question would be regarding adding new files, can this be done via the front end somehow?

I guess this has been discussed as you mentioned, I will look for the thread.
