    hi there ...

i’m working on a site that has an area which shows contextual links to articles, case studies, etc based on the page that the user is viewing. i have accomplished this by linking documents together using TV tags. however i have been informed by the client that some of these contextual links could be PDFs or other files as well as normal documents.

so now i’m thinking, how do i achieve this? i could just use weblinks and use the URL of the file but i will need a simple way for the client to upload these files and select them (just like using FCK editor when linking to a file in body copy).

so basically is there a way to create a document/weblink that can access the TV’s of a given template and also links to a file that can be uploaded and selected in an client-friendly fashion?

does that make sense at all?

    cheers smiley

nice app ... however there’s still going to be the problem of easy uploading of files. does it have some hidden uploading tool i don’t see? if not i suppose the client would have to use the Manage Files tool of modx?

you mention using .htaccess for security ... how would you do that and what would it do?
