Hi,
Are there any plans on creating a CMP of the Articles component in the future? I'd think it'll be a great solution to have news management as a component which would be more easily managed and easier navigated by users in the manager.
Could this be a "future feature" for the Articles component?

If MODx does not suit your needs then you have a lack of imagination.
I certainly cannot speak for the developer, but this is probably unlikely. Articles is specifically for managing a blog-type setup, but allowing multiple possible distinct blogs on a site. What you are asking for would be a "site-wide" news kind of solution.
That said, it is certainly possible to make your own extra, or commission someone to do it for you. The above link that Bruno17 provided would be a good starting point.
