Hello everyone,
I am checking out the Midori Web browser. So far my experience is very similar to Google Chrome..
However, a few sites I have built with MODx are having issues with the Manager. I can see the general news feeds, but the left panel is blank. Also, if I click on any of the manager menu items, nothing happens. Here is my output from the Javascript condsole:
7 @ /manager/assets/ext3/ext-all.js: TypeError: Result of expression 'navigator.userAgent.match(/AppleWebKit\/(\d+)/)' [null] is not an object.
7 @ /manager/assets/ext3/adapter/ext/ext-base.js: TypeError: Result of expression 'I' [undefined] is not an object.
7 @ /manager/assets/ext3/adapter/ext/ext-base.js: TypeError: Result of expression 'I' [undefined] is not an object.
7 @ /manager/assets/ext3/adapter/ext/ext-base.js: TypeError: Result of expression 'I' [undefined] is not an object.
1 @ /manager/min/index.php?f=/manager/assets/modext/widgets/security/modx.grid.user.recent.resource.js,/manager/assets/modext/widgets/modx.panel.welcome.js,/manager/assets/modext/sections/welcome.js: TypeError: Result of expression 'MODx.grid' [undefined] is not an object.
20 @ /manager/: TypeError: Result of expression 'MODx.load' [undefined] is not a function.
27 @ /manager/: TypeError: Result of expression 'MODx.load' [undefined] is not a function.
34 @ /manager/: TypeError: Result of expression 'MODx.load' [undefined] is not a function.
Clearly Midori is not liking some items. I did do a quick search in the forums on Midori, and I did not see anything. If there is a thread on this, please forgive me as I am legally blind and do miss things from time to time.
Being that this same manager works in Chrome, Firefox, and IE, this seems specific to Midori. Has anyone tried out Midori? I do have Javascript enabled and I did do a quick test with a jQuery/Javascript widget and that works fine. It is just the manager that is not happy.
Being that things work fine in both Chrome and Firefox which are the two main browsers I use, I will just continue to use them. I just wanted to see if anyone has tried Midori and if you have had similar issues.
My environment is:
OS - Debian 6.0.5
Midori version 0.2.4
GTK+ 2.20.0, WebKitGTK+ 1.2.0
A lightweight web browser.
I loaded Midori straight from the Debian Squeeze repository.
Thank you for your time.
Dan

IT IS WORKING! I have done several items since this post and hope this information can be of help. I wanted to revisit this as I had a clean slat to work with.
I have upgraded from Debian 6.0 "Squeeze" to 7.0 "Wheezy". I am now running Midori 0.4.3 installed from the Wheezy repo.
I reviewed the Common Problems section of the FAQ in Midori. I came across a section indicating that you can identify Midori as another browser. I changed the option identifying my browser from an automatic setting, which was iding me as an Apple Mac user to identifying as Midori specifically, and I am now properly identifyed as a Linux user and Midori browser. The MODx manager appears to be working now. I have also since upgraded MODx to 2.2.6.
