I installed Modx succesfully at my host, but when i add a new user and check that the password must be mailed no mail is send. I see no error message in Modx.
When i use the forgot password mail function i recieve nog email.

Where can i look to fix this problem? How is the internal Modx mail function working?

    Thanks in advance!

It uses the PHP mail() function. is it possibly an issue with your web host’s sendmail?
can you successfully send messages in other scripts using PHP’s built in mail() function?

If you feel like digging around, check out /manager/processors/save_user.processor.php lines 461 &465.

For a while I had my sites hosted on a shared server with a hosting company where they did not allow the mail() function to send mail beyond the sending domain; I could use it for a contact form, for example, because the mail was sent to the same domain ([email protected]), but it wouldn’t send mail to any other domains. Took me a while to figure out what the problem was. I moved my domains.
