Hey BobRay, popping up again on permissions! After this I'll be a pro, learning from the best!
In the Permissions series, how do I assign my Media Source to be viewed separately for all my users?
I have created the right ACL so my users could upload images via the manager but not see the file tree on the left.
Then I read the excellent:
http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/Creating+a+Media+Source+for+Clients+Tutorial and was able to limit access to a Media Source to certain users but I cannot get the last step I need to work.
I have created the right ACL so my users could upload images via the manager but not see the file tree on the left.
I have created a Media Source, folders and CHMOD them, limited the access to my filesystem to my Admin group and assigned my new Media Source to a user group (I have tried with Members and an Individual user User Group).
I have created a TV that uses MIGX to upload images to a gallery.
The result is I can control who can and who cannot upload images. The upload dropdown from my TV shows or is commented out depending on permissions to access the Media Source. However, if the user has access to the media source, they can see all of it, including what is not theirs. I guess I am missing the part where the user saves only in their Resource Group (or equivalent for Media Source) that is hidden from the others but I cannot find a reference to that.
