  • I'm working on an nginx private server. Trying to install Evo. I get the first page asking if I want to install now. The next page, however, comes up with no styling, just the introductory paragraph and the language drop-down and "next" line, then a line "Connection to host: failed!"

Does anybody have any idea what that is all about?

    • How are you running PHP in your setup?

      • I had started an installation, then the file permissions were not correct. So I went into the server and made changes. Attempting to re-run the installer was somehow skipping over everything and trying to connect to the database without the form submissions. I cleared everything in the way of caches - but didn't think to clear the site cookies. I tried again installing fresh into a subdirectory and it went fine. I suspect now that something in the SESSION pointed to by the cookie had stored the point where I left off in the previous installation and was trying to pick up at that point even though it was a completely new upload of Evo.

Anyway, all is well, the server is now running PHP-FPM with the proper user/group configuration, and hopefully I'll remember to clear cookies as well next time.
