Been working hard on creating some custom snippets for our backend for while now. We’re in a position where we’re using FLV movies to be played inline and this works well but I’d like to auto-detect/set the users bandwidth available to them and present seamlessly the flash flv for their connection speed.
I know that there are some Flash Server MX tools which can run action scripts you can install but I’m a bit hesitant the extra expense for only one feature.
I’ve discovered this javascript and I’m interested in seeing how to integrate that into reporting back a cookie or modx/php var which can be set.

Also has anyone had experience with refreshing a ’portion’ of your window in a template. I’m wanting to change the main image in a gallery I’ve coded but in order to change it I have to re-load the entire page and so on.
Any help is much appreciated!
