JS error in manager?

Not sure in what other subforum to post this, so I'm putting it here.

This is quite a serious issue, as I can't edit my settings because of this.

I'm getting an error in ext.js (which I haven't touched) where I'm trying to load context settings, it'll say

Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token <

See attached screenshot.

Can anybody help me diagnose / debug / fix this?

Sorry for the duplicate posts. I got a 504 error after posting.

This website / forum could use some fixing..

I'm getting lots of php errors returned to ext.js, which probably explains the JS errors, as php returns the errors in html format.

Anyone?

now this becomes odd.
are you sure your server has met the required specification to install modx?

what's your server's environment?

Thanks a lot for your support, goldsky!

I installed it on my local dev machine (ubuntu) and got a bunch of odd errors.

We moved the project to a test/production server (it will have to go there eventually anyway) and things run a lot smoother. We basically copied the files and database over to the other machine, and I have the website and modx manager up and running.

I no longer get this error, but a new issue arises on my new environment, which should hopefully be easier diagnose.

Now, when I'm in the context settings, in the category dropdown there's the total of properties in brackets behind, ie: Lexicon & Language ( 8 )

But whatever I select, I don't get any settings back, the table stays empty. In fact settings.php returns: {results: [], total: "0"}

Pretty sure this is a leftover of the old config, any suggestions as to what to edit (assuming a path here or there, though all paths in core/config/config.inc.php are updated to reflect the new environment.

So it works.
It means you haven't set any settings for the particular context, and it will inherit all settings from the global settings, the System Settings.
