    hi,

I am working on a site where (web)users can submit webpages/links and then others can comment on them.
after wasting one hour firuging how the "add a new blog entry" worked (I thought that could edit it to make the submitform) I failed

what is the best way to get this site done? what plugins/snippits can I use

I have NO experience with MODx, this is my first site

It is now hosted on my localhost webserver (Xampp)

You’re going to have to invest a bit more time in learning the basic concepts and ideas in MODx; NO experience isn’t going to work when setting up a site like you are describing. Once you do, you’ll better see how to accomplish these things, and what questions to ask, but there are rarely going to be prefabricated, point-and-click solutions for what you want to do in MODx, at least at this point in time.

MODx is a framework for building what you conceive with as few limitations as possible. I suggest doing some reading and interacting with the community; there are plenty of examples (Jot for commenting, NewsPublisher for front-end publishing, etc.) and discussions regarding MODx security, publishing content from the front-end, and managing comments for documents; altering the PHP code to allow publishing of weblinks and attaching comments to them should be relatively straight-forward with basic knowledge of MODx and some PHP skills.

Now, someone could have created a snippet or module for this already and shared it in the repository or here in the forums; I may have just missed it...

Welcome to MODx, and good luck.
