    I know this can be done, but I am not sure how... what I would like to do is have a some type of applet in the manager that would allow me to enter some information into the database, with multiple ’categories’ of information per entry and have a page on the public end that pulls the data into a template and displays the multiple entries with the template... something like this.

    manager end;

    entryXX (XX as in auto-incremented)
    picture, description, control#

    public end;

    picture, description, control#
    -
    next entry...

    - so it looks similar to an item listing in a store front, but an e-store look would be a bit extreme for the application.

    I also have pages that use a css table. But right now, I have the table included in each page. I want to use a static table and pull in dynamic content from ’indexed’ documents created in the manager. I know you can pull in snippets and chunks in this fashion, but I think i need it to work in the opposite direction.

    so more like this;

    template (independent from the site template)
    anchor-data-a anchor-data-b anchor-data-c anchor-pic-a

    menu indexed document
    data-a data-b data-c pic-a

    but right now I have this; - and it was working ok until i realized i needed multiple pages in this format, so changes to the ’template’ have to be made to every document.

    menu indexed document
    template (independent from the site template - inline with document)
    data-a data-b data-c pic-a (manually placed within the template)

    ---

    the site is fairly static, no blog / news type entries, feeds, stuff popping out in your face... I just need a way to do what I have mentioned above. that is my "blog/news" type stuff. I have a global template and these two categories I need this special stuff for.

    Thanks smiley

      Sounds to me as if you could do all of this easily using Ditto...

        Yeah I just started looking into Ditto, cause the principal idea is rather blogish. But looking at the ditto wiki.. it is just not clicking for me. I don’t exactly have a grasp on how Ditto works. Looks like a winner for my first issue, but my second issue appears to be a different breed. For issue 1, I guess if I can make a post with ditto and have the information ’tagged’ by ’data-a’, ’data-b’ I guess that is what I need.
