    Hi All
New to MODX Rev and love it. Building a site for our church. We have about 30 lay organizations that we wish to each have their own page.

I have already configured Wayfinder to generate a Dropdown Menu. I would like for the Organizations to do the following in the Menu
    Organizations
    A-B
    Altar Servers
    Barbecue
    Bereavement
    Bible Study
    Boy Scouts
    C-D
    Castaic Mission
    Choirs
    Co-Workers of Mother Teresa
    Detention Ministry
    Divine Mercy

and so on. So for the A-B and C-D I do not wish the click to go to the page just to group them by it. I can create the A-B page and have that as a container for the other pages. I was thinking of some way of doing an conditional check to not create the reference link on the snippet base on a template variable for those pages.

Has anyone else done something like this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Robert [ed. note: rstojkovic2 last edited this post 14 years, 1 month ago.]

      Check out "categoryFolder" items. http://rtfm.modx.com/display/ADDON/Wayfinder#Wayfinder-GeneralParameters

      &categoryFoldersTpl
Name of the chunk containing the template for category folders.
Category folders are determined by setting the template to blank
or by setting the link attributes field to rel="category".

Thanks for the advise. I did more digging and was able to achieve what I wanted. Here is my Wayfinder Call

        [[Wayfinder? &startId=`0` &level=`4` &parentClass=`hide` &parentRowTpl=`cssplay_revParentRow` &outerTpl=`cssplay_outer` &innerTpl=`cssplay_inner` &rowTpl=`cssplay_row` &outerClass=`menu` &cssTpl=`cssplay_ultdrop` &categoryFoldersTpl = `css_categoryFolders` &innerRowTpl=`cssplay_innerRow`]]

I needed the &innerRowTbl as well to allow the the second group of folders to have the href removed.

You can see the menu here http://www.olph-church.org/beta/

        Thanks again

Good thread, this will come in handy to someone someday.

The menu works nicely, but have you considered mobile users? Due to the fact that the submenu appears on hover, and the parent isn't clickable... mobile users won't be able to see the third level menu.

Just offering something to think about. I find that I have to keep the parents clickable and make sure to create child page links on that resource for mobile users otherwise they would never see submenu pages. The other option would be to make the 2nd level open the third level on click, instead of hover.
