Trouble with sending mail

Hi to all,

Im trying to send mail from website with eForm and also with ContactForm but im getting eror like:

Failed to connect to mailserver at "localhost" port 25, verify your "SMTP" and "smtp_port" setting in php.ini or use ini_set()

Well my mail port is not 25, its 465.

I changed in class.phpmailer.php and also in class.smtp.php but i still getting error for port 25?!

Please what to do. Im ASP programmer, and just started with php and ModX CMS.

i dont know very much about but it seems your php.ini port is 25
change in this archive or use ini set in php if dont have access to it

I saw that, but how to use ini_set() and where(which file) to use it?
Like i said im new to php.

in htaccess put this

php_value SMTP localhost
php_value smtp_port 465
or
in the config.php of modx put
ini_set("smtp_port","465");
