Can't get submenu to show up

Hello,
Using Modx Evolution 1.4

I am trying to set up a way to organize month folders in the tree of the admin section of modx. Then I want to be able to have the children under a submenu show up in the menu. Example of the tree organization.

Parent
Child 1 (describe by the Year)
Child 1a (described by the month)
web page article 1 (days of week)
web page article 2
web page article 3
Ect.

Again what I want to do is to retrieve the articles from the month and sometimes multiple months and just display the articles in the months.
I have tried several things but this is what I am currently using for the way finder call
[[Wayfinder?startId=`57` &level=`0` &innerTpl=`PE.innerTpl` ]]

InnerTpl is: <ul style="display:all">
[+wf.wrapper+]
</ul>

What I am doing is trying to organize these articles based on the year and month and show about ten to 12 articles. The articles may come from two different month folders.

Any help or suggestions would be very helpful.
