Is it ok to use define TV’s in alphanumeric format? For example, I was thinking of using the following for tv names:
    c01orange
    c01grey
    c01a01 - c01a02 - c01a03 etc...
    c01ptext

I did look in the documentation before asking this but couldn’t see any explicit instruction, but I imagine modx uses standard variable naming conventions. For the record, I generally use lower case with no spaces, but I do occasionally use camel case.

Alphanumerics in TV names is fine. As a php programmer, I would feel weird about making variable names with spaces in them, but that’s just me. I always use underscores in place of spaces, even in chunk and snippet names. That said, I don’t think it should cause you any problems.

in answer to my own question wink >> i’ve been using the TV’s I outlined and they work fine so it looks like the usual variable naming conventions apply to modx.
