Answered Broken Gallery plugin = hair loss.

    Hello there,

    I've developed a bit of a large headache, due to the Gallery plugin no longer working as it should.

    The site is live www.hannahlovett.com and has been for a while, but yesterday the images that are supposed to show on the home and "about" pages have been replaced by some very ugly code. When I log in to the manager and go to Components > Gallery it just displays "Could not load controller request handler." where it ought to be.

    However, if you go to the "gallery" page on the website, there are images appearing as fully intended. Even more surprising is that when I go to edit the resources that are used for each project, I can still add more images from the gallery from within the TV(?!).

    Could somebody please shed some light onto how I need to fix this - I'm no expert and dread the prospect of making things 10x worse by tinkering around at this stage.

    P.S - am running Revo 2.1.1
    P.P.S - I've tried updating the plugin from 1.2 to the latest version, but it fails each time.

      Are you getting any errors in Reports -> Error log?

          Take a look at the files and check their permissions; it looks like something in there got corrupted or got its permissions changed or something.

            The permissions seemed fine, but I changed them to 777 anyway just in case.
            Ran another error report and got this:

            [2012-08-07 21:50:15] (ERROR @ /manager/index.php) Path specified for package gallery is not a valid or accessible directory: /public_html/core/components/gallery/model/
            [2012-08-07 21:50:15] (ERROR @ /manager/index.php) Could not load class: GalControllerRequest from gallery.request.galcontrollerrequest.

            Slightly different, but still can't access what looks to be the problem file.

              Is that the correct path? /public_html/... doesn't look right; what is the actual path to your web root? It's usually something like /home/domain/public_html/...

                Sorry, I'm not sure I completely understand what you're asking me there. How/where do I check this?

                  Aha!

                  Thanks to https://forums.modx.com/thread/?thread=45119&page=2 I found the setting you were obviously referring to.

                  Changed it to home/domain/... and it worked.
                  Thanks for guiding me in the right direction.
