Hi guys, our web designer has set up our site in MODX and I've uploaded hundreds of images for a new discount card site that we're launching. I've now realised that I've uploaded all of the files as JPGs and they're making the site a little slow to load each page.

I want to switch them all for GIFs instead.

I've made GIFs of each file and uploaded them but now I'm trying to find a way of quickly changing the link name from picturename.jpg to picturename.gif without having to click into each resource and change the name one at a time!

    Can anyone help?

They are stored in 'Files' then 'Assets'.

Any help would be REALLY appreciated as it's going to take me ages to change them to GIF instead of JPG!

I mean, where are the filenames stored?

That's part of the problem I guess. Where are they likely to be stored?

This is the link name at the moment:
              assets/images/brand-logos/small/FrankieBennyssmall.jpg

I want to change all of the images to:
              assets/images/brand-logos/small/FrankieBennyssmall.gif

well, they can be in image-TVs, in custom-tables, in the content-field, in chunks, in the templates, in CSS-files, hardcoded in snippets and what not.

How do you want to replace them, when not knowing where to replace?

you could do a mysql-dump and search/replace jgp to gif, if you are sure all your images are replaced by gifs. But not sure if this is a good idea in your situation.

I input them into each discount deal in Templates and template variables.

The mysql-dump could be the way forward possibly...

I think this might be the answer!
