    Hi,

A previous developer I worked with used ModX for a clients site. The client has recently gotten in touch to get the URLs' to be SEO friendly.

So I found the guide on the ModX website, followed it step by step and still nothing. The URLs' are still index.php?id=

Another developer I work with has also checked and everything is the same as the ModX guide says, but yet it is still not working.

Don't know what else I can do.

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks.

Is the site in a subfolder? If so, you'll need this in .htaccess:

      RewriteEngine On
      RewriteBase /subDirectoryName

Can you post back with the content of your .htaccess file, it's location, site location on the server, and a recap of any site settings you changed.

Also, what version of MODX is the site running on?

Excuse me for butting in, but I think it's more likely that the OP would want:

        RewriteBase /

You might just need to delete all the files in the core/cache directory and clear your browser cache and cookies.

          "Rewrite Base" doesn't work.

The ht.access file that MODX installs actually says "RewriteBase"

          I thought maybe I'd deleted the space somehow but when I checked a freshly downloaded 2.2.4-pl zip file it has RewriteBase in camel case. I inserted the space, which provided a nice internal server error when I refreshed the page. Back to RewriteBase for me :~}

Sorry, you're right of course. I was focusing on the value, which very rarely needs the subdirectory except on localhost install.

Clearing the cache folder worked, partly.

All the submenu links are now fine, part from it having a .html at the end.

But the too menu links are not links to there page. They are coming as blank links, no href value at all.

                This has been resolved.

I removed the file extension from the content types and now all links are showing correctly.
