revo 2.2.4-pl cannot change default_template

i`ve created a new template (id = 2)
then i go to system -> system settings (site) -> default_template
default_template is set to base template (id = 1).
i try to change it.
it says please wait... saving
and then nothing happens
default_template is still set to 1
neither site -> clear cache nor clearing browser`s cache fixes it.
how to solve this problem? [ed. note: stuff last edited this post 14 years, 2 months ago.]

You could change that system setting in the modx_system_settings table in PhpMyAdmin.

Sometimes, problems like that are caused by a mismatch between the MODX date_timezone System System setting and the setting used by PHP, the Server, or MySQL.

the symptoms you describe may refer to a problem with changing a template of the resource.
and setting correct equal timezone in mysql and modx really fixes it for me.
nevertheless, problem with setting default template through the control panel still take place.

Did you try these?

Deleting all files in the core/cache directory
Turning off compress_js and compress_css System Settings.
Clearing Browser cache and cookies

If those don't work, it could be a missing or corrupted file in your install, especially if you transferred the MODX files individually with FTP.
