Hi all, I am new to using ModX, se please bear with me. I realise that this has been posted before but I couldnt find the answers useful.
I am running Revo 2.1.4 and am having all sorts of issues saving: on some pages the Saving progress bar just loops. On others it doesnt come up at all. each time this happens I must log in and out again. Does anyone know whats going on? Does it have somethign to do with sessions?
Thanks!

I used to get this problem with 2.1.x, I could not solve it, but I got around it quite easily. It turns out the bar is not a good indicator of whether the page has saved and the problem ended up being my host (1&1), though not something they could fix directly. What I found was that when the bar just looped like that, if I pressed Refresh or 'F5', it would have saved and it would fix the problem temporarily.
In my case, it was how my host handled redirects after AJAX requests. That is, the AJAX save would complete, but my host would never send out the request to redirect the page to reload. (This only happened with Resources for me) With 2.2, the issue is resolved as far as I can tell.
Hope this helps!

Is stuff actually saved? If not, the most likely culprit is mod_security (especially if you can save Resources but not some elements):

Turning off the compress_js and compress_css System Settings is also worth a try.

Are you by any chance using Chrome? If so, try Firefox. I can't get save to work in Chrome any more. Multiple machines with the latest version over the past few months, no go. Always a save loop. Can't see the browse icon for images either. The resource saves, but it's tedious to have to refresh the mgr for every save.
I've resolved to not use Chrome for editing, unfortunately. There seems to be no solution, nor enough experiencing the same issue to be able to figure out what's up.

Frogabog, I think may be a problem with a Chrome extension. I had to disable or upgrade one or more of them, but I can't remember which one(s).

I ran into an issue with Chrome at one time, and my experience was similar to BobRay's. It was an extension that was causing the issue. Currently, I am only running XMarks and TooManyTabs and it works fine. (I find the Chrome development tools to be more than enough for me).
Fortunately, I only had two extensions installed in Chrome other than the virus protection extensions. I've got the culprit's name...
Website Logon 1.0
TrueSuite Website Logon Extension.
I'm fairly sure I didn't install this extension (at least knowingly), but when I re-enabled it the save loop returned so there ya go. Maybe this will help someone else.
