    Hi,

I have some pages i want to protect from standard editors so i made an resourcegroup for admins and for editors, an usergroup and an acces policy for editors.
I addedd the 'handsoff' resource/page to the admin resourcegroup.
Now.. the editors cannot see the 'handsoff' page in the manager. great thats what i wanted but they also cannot see it in the web context, actualy no one can see it but me, the admin.
so how can i exclude people from having acces to certain resources only in the manager?

    What am i doing wrong?

If they cannot see it in the web context then they havent had the page added to the web context as well, mgr and web are separate, you need ot ensure they are in the web context too

From what I understand of it when ive used it, once you start setting up ACL's you need to add resources to a 'View All' resource if you want them to view it on the front end. I had to go through the Modx book a few times written by Bobray (you can also look at his site: http://bobsguides.com/creating-manager-users.html / http://bobsguides.com/hiding-resources-in-the-manager.html) to get the gist of it all.

ACL's are lot more complex in Revo but easy once you get your head around it.

Its kinda hard to explain the process but Bobs guides above help significantly.

btw HTH = hope that helps wink

Everyone needs a *Context* Access ACL entry with a context of 'web' in order to see any resources in that context in the tree.

Your Resource Group Access ACL entries should still hide the appropriate ones.
