Sudden odd behavior in different browsers, MODx versions, servers, computers

Probably not, but it does seem odd that I've been getting these random, intermittent interruptions at just about the same time I've seen a number of similar posts to yours. Maybe it's all because of the big solar flare that went off a week or so ago.

The weirdest part of this for me is that, when I experience things like the package manager not displaying a list of components, at that moment I can go to any other computer in the office and I'll see the same thing...even various installations with various MODx versions; all at the same time.

In the past week or so, I've had two relatively new drives self-destruct, and the document tree in PhpStorm has been collapsing on me at odd times.

The oddest thing is that in the MODX Manager, the main menus won't stay down in Chrome. This is on localhost, so probably nothing to do with the internet.

The drop-down menus disappear as soon as the mouse leaves the top, so it's impossible to click on anything. The weird thing is that it doesn't affect all Top Menu Items -- some work, some don't and different ones work at different times.

Clearing the cache doesn't help, nor does reloading the page, but sometimes, if I can find another Top Menu option that stays visible, clicking on one of its subitems will then make the menu I want work.

The compress settings are off.

It doesn't happen in FF, but FF is painfully slow even with Firebug off.
