I have a fresh install of modx and the articles plugin setup on my server. I setup a temporary homepage while I worked on my blog. The articles container was setup as modx document (4) and the alias was set to blog. Everything worked liked a charm as I built my blog. I have tags and archives in my right column with the article listing on the left. All the links work.
So now that I have the blog set up I wish to set it as my homepage. I though it would be as simple as going into the site settings and changing the site start page to (4) which is the blog container. At first I thought everything was good but as soon as I clicked the tag and archive links I realized that they were all broken.
Can anyone help me understand what is going on? I'm eager to get my site online. I'll post more details tomorrow for further explanation.
Thanks!
The home page has a different URL scheme, which is throwing off your links. You could probably fix it with some config changes, but it might be easier to just put a tag for this snippet on the original Home page:
<?php
/* RedirectToBlog snippet */
$id = 12; // Change 12 to the ID of your blog page
$url = $modx->makeUrl($id, "", "", "full");
$modx->sendRedirect($url);

Cool thanks. Although, after some playing around, I came up with a different solution.
I noticed that the tags were using the container alias for the links. So I actually needed to alter the way taglister was outputting the urls. I first tried creating my own custom chunk for taglister and setting the chunk in Articles' Advanced settings but it wouldn't use my custom chunk. That became another issue but I got around that by going into the core files on my server and locating the default chunk file and editing it. I know that doing that may cause problems later on but I can't seem to create the new working chunk within modx.
Did you notice that on the Advanced tab of Manage Articles (at the bottom), there's an Articles URL format string?
